Eligibility: open to legal residents of the United States and the District of Columbia who are between 13 and 18 years of age as of the date of their entry. Eligible minors must have the consent of their parents or legal guardians prior to participating.
Entry Dates: January 22, 2013 and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on March 4, 2013
Upload a video that displays why S.T.E.M is cool and submit the video into one of the applicable Categories. Videos must be a minimum of thirty (30) seconds and be no longer than sixty (60) seconds in length.
Entry Limit: one entry per person using only one email address per Category.
One Grand Prize: A 16GB tablet device, a $2,500 AMEX gift card, and a gift pack including $500 of L’Oréal USA products. ARV: $3,400
Four First Prizes (one per category): A 16GB mini tablet device, and a gift pack including $250 of L’Oréal USA products. ARV: $600
Judging: This phase begins at 12:00 a.m. ET on March 5, 2013 and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on March 15, 2013. All Contest Entries from among all Categories will be judged by a panel of judges based on the following criteria:
- (30%) creativity
- (30%) ability of entrant to create a knowledgeable and instructional video
- (40%) ability of entrant to depict their passion for science in the applicable Category
Public Voting: This phase begins at 12:00 a.m. ET on March 18, 2013 and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on March 25, 2013. Finalist videos will be uploaded to the Promotion Website where individuals who are 13 years of age or older will be able to view the Finalist videos and vote for their favorite.
