you probably ended up on an ad page. That just happened to me. Click Skip Ad at the top right and it will take you to the sweeps page

I entered for one of the prizes and got a screen thanking me for my subscription to Redbook. I immediately sent them an a-mail about it and told them I didn’t want a subscription. I’m very carefull when entering magazine sweeps to see if they have signing up for a subscription set as a default option – something I can “uncheck”. This site didn’t have anything on the page that indicated I was going to be stuck with a subscription.

Same here. I was trying to enter the win a pair of jeans contest and the next thing you know, they are thanking me for my subscription to redbook even though I had the NO checked for emails and offers from them. No where did I see anything that informed me I was signing up for a subscription to redbook.

I sent them an e-mail right after that happened, telling them I was not subscribing. They never replied, and now I’m getting e-mails welcoming me to Redbook. I even received a postcard in the mail a day or two ago, telling me I had subscribed and my first issue will be the December issue. Really don’t know what to do to stop it.

I don’t know if this will help us, but I was able to log on to my Redbook account (using the user name and password Redbook sent me in an email) and there was an area for customer service. I’m not sure how I got on to a certain page, but the page had a selection to cancel my subscription. It may have been under the manage your account area, can’t remember. So I was able to cancel my subscription online. If the magazine arrives anyway, I will just mark the magazine label “refused” and give it back to the post office. When the bill arrives, I will write CANCEL on it and mail it back. Hopefully, that will be the end of it.
