Thanks to everyone who notified me that I was a winner in the Compusa Mini Notebook Giveaway. Without everyone contacting me I might have missed out. I’m happy to have won but now I think I need stronger reading glasses to see the screen. Those things are tiny. You can still have a chance to win because it is going on until September 30, 2009.

I stumbled across your site at the end of May and started entering a few sweeps. I won some small prizes, so I decided to step it up and see what I could do. I’ve won so much stuff now that it’s almost embarrassing to list it all. I am indebted to you for your informative articles, and for turning me on to Sweepstakes Advantage where I enter about 20 sweeps a day. The most consistent wins are the “Sweeties Picks“, no question about it. If someone new wanted to prove that sweeps are winnable, they should consistently enter the sweeps on that list. It’s very possible to win some prizes, small or large, within the first few weeks.

They should realize though that many of the grand prizes in the instant wins won’t be drawn for months (or daily entries, or single entries) so they won’t really know how successful they have been until they have been at it for quite a while. I’m still having a blast with sweeps, win or lose, but this big win really increases the fun factor. The notification phone call was quite a thrill. I hope all your readers get to experience that kind of excitement!

Silly, I know, but I am excited cuz I just won my first prize from the Wendy’s NCAA Football Big Score Promotion – a $5 Wendy’s gift card!

I haven’t been a member very long, so I am going to take this as a good omen that your system for winning is something I should stick with. Just this week I was feeling a little doubt set in, but figured I would stick with it for at least six months. It only takes me about an hour or so per day to enter all the sweeps that appeal to me. The first week was the hardest, because I had to read the rules for every contest and quite literally, review all the info on your website including links, etc. I am not very techie, but I’ve managed, using your tips, to set up a fairly good system for myself.

Again, maybe it’s just an omen of bigger things to come! I don’t even eat hamburgers, but I know my teenager will like getting this in her stocking this Christmas!

I see you posted the restricted sweep I sent in too! If I see anything else, I will be happy to pass it on.

Did you hear the great news? I won 2nd place on the Carefree Fresh Start Fund sweeps. That’s $5,000 cash and a trip to NYC. I’m ecstatic.

I am positive that the votes from your site helped just as every other vote did but most of the votes came from family, friends, old college schoolmates, ex-work colleagues and many from total strangers. I was invited by a news reporter friend of mine to speak on his local radio broadcast, which is the station’s highest rated and most popular time slot segment and many of his listeners contacted me and the station to help me with the votes. In addition, a local Hispanic TV station heard my story over the radio and contacted me to invite me to a TV talk show. They wanted me to help them with a story they were covering regarding the health insurance crisis in Miami and said that they would put a banner on the screen with the Carefree voting website to help me gain some more votes. After checking and clearing it with the Carefree prize promoters, I went in for the taping of the TV show and was amazed that my story was given over 15-20 minutes of airtime. I later learned that the show was mobbed by callers wanting to give me their support and votes. I received over 100 emails from total strangers wanting to know how they could vote for me. So to answer your question, yes, every single vote, including the ones from your site’s chatters, helped me win second place and I thank you for allowing me to campaign on your site and for opening the doors to this fun world of sweeping!!

So anyways, I was picked as a top 10 finalist because the judges ranked my essay in the top ten out of the over 1100 essays submitted. Then they opened up the site for the voting phase and the voters picked me in second place. As a top ten finalist, I was in essence already a winner because the rules stated that all the top ten were guaranteed at minimum $1K. I already mailed back my affidavit and was contacted by the sweepstakes promoter because they are considering shooting some local marketing ads in the top three winner’s hometowns. As a second place finalist, I get the $5K (wooohooo!!!), a private consultation with a change expert/motivator, the all-expense paid trip to NYC, and a debit card for food and incidentals. While in NY they are going to shoot pictures and video for their print and TV campaign ads and will also host a celebratory event.
