Winning Sweepstakes Stories from Sweeties Readers

I know you love hearing what other people win. It encourages us and shows that real people do win sweepstakes. Prizes can come in all shapes, sizes, values, and types. Some make us smile while others help to change our everyday lives. Read just some of the many winner stories that I get sent to me and you will see what I mean.

This is my first big win from the FedEx College Basketball Championship sweepstakes. Grand Prize – A 65’ HDTV and $900.

My husband and I went on our first vacation in 4 years (Not a sweep win). We were on our way home and to make things cheaper we took a flight that had a three hour lay over. Well during my flight I received the call from FedEx, thank goodness they left a message. I have a Google phone (Sweetie’s suggestion) and I have received some calls on it, all have been sales calls so I really didn’t get my hopes up. They left a complete message stating I was the potential winner and they would be overnighting me an affidavit to sign and mail back.

I was so in shock that I really didn’t listen to a complete message I had to listen to again after about 30 minutes to really understand all the things she said but she never said what I had won. Since I was at an airport and just had my phone I didn’t really have a way to research what the prize was I could only guess. I was going through some of the things it could be; a trip to the Final Four basketball tourney which could be for this year or next, a TV, or cash. The whole time my husband is saying could it be a box of Wheat Thins, I bet it’s a box of Wheat Thins, I told him they didn’t overnight packages for that type of win. I got home about 5 hours later, researched what it was, and I was in Shock. I have won some pretty exciting things but this is definitely by far the best (it was on my Hope to Win List).

Well if I haven’t said it enough Twitter is amazing and you know why?…….I won a trip for Two to TURKEY (airfare and hotel at a 5 star hotel for 5 days 4 night) All from from one tweet!!!! I almost fell off my chair when I got the tweet that I had a one in four chance being picked, and then when I won I was jumping up and down in my office. So amazing!!! Looks like there are some black out dates, but we can take the trip any time this year. What a great 40th Birthday this year is going to be.

Oh.My.Gosh. I’m shaking. I was just informed that I’m the grand prize winner in the “Save the Date for the Royal Wedding” Twitter Sweeps by UK Style/Sears!

Prize includes air, room and $600 spending cash for trip to London for three days. Short, but still worth it. It is for the time of the royal wedding, Apr. 27-30th. (Thank goodness my hubby and I already have passports!) All I had to do was retweet the message once every 24 hours. Looks like I’ll be doing more tweeting contests from now on!

Did I mention that I’m literally shaking.

My BF was just notified that he won the first prize in the “Coke Zero 400 Victory Lane Celebration” Sweepstakes which is two tickets to the Coke Zero 400 in Daytona on July 2, 2011. I don’t really like NASCAR, but he does, and he has wanted tickets to a race for a long time now. He is super happy with the win. I entered for him, so I consider it my win as well.

So my better half popped the question on Christmas and after the initial shock and happiness I knew what my mission was… I needed to win a wedding. Well I realized that winning the actual wedding outright was going to be a challenge I decided to try to win whatever I could. Well this weekend I attending my first bridal expo and I won the grand prize… a $500 Gift card to Davids Bridal. Wooooooo Hoooooo. Dress covered. So now all I need to win is the flowers, venue, DJ, invitations, tux, cake, limo, photography, and honeymoon and we’re set lol.

I’m still shaking, I got a call that I was the grand prize winner in the Kettle Brands Real Solutions 2011 sweepstakes (it’s posted on Sweetie’s main site, but I had to share here!)!!!! It’s a choice of 3 trips for two people! This is what I can choose from:

a. Costa Rica – Bajos del Toro and Guanacaste. This Trip begins with travel to Costa Rica (San Jose) and three (3) night stay at the inclusive El Silencio Lodge & Spa, Bajos del Toro, Costa Rica, with all meals included. Included is an excursion to Mountain Pine Ridge with lunch in Caracol, Costa Rica as well as ground transfer travel to the Hotel Grano De Oro for a one (1) night stay and full breakfast. Following that, the Grand Prize Winner and the Guest will receive ground travel transfer and four (4) nights at the Capitan Suizo Hotel, Playa Tamarindo, Guanacaste, with full breakfast daily and deluxe room accommodations.

b. Tucson, Arizona – Miraval. Grand Prize Winner and the Guest will receive a five (5) night stay at the Miraval Arizona Resort & Spa, in Tucson, Arizona. Ahhh, what to pick! I know it won’t be Tuscon, but between the other two is a tough choice!!

I’ve been kind of down lately b/c I haven’t won anything big in awhile, but I felt like something big was coming!! To anybody out there in a slump, let this be encouragement, don’t be jealous! It really is true that if you stick with it and keep on entering, you’ll win eventually!

We are definitely leaning towards Costa Rica, that is really a once in a lifetime opportunity! I just read the rules more and the ARV is $7000! Wow, definitely the biggest prize I’ve won so far! And my boyfriend is one of 20 semifinalists in a sweeps tomorrow to win an $1800 travel voucher. And I won a pair of movie tickets this week, luckiest week ever!
