Many of you enter the hourly Allure Giveaways and Brandie from Free Sample Freak and her readers enter as well. And, they have a lot of questions about how it is done, when will you be notified, etc. Brandie has come up with those answers and she has given me permission to share them with you.
How often can I enter the hourly Allure Giveaways?
Each hourly giveaway is considered a separate promotion. You can sign up every hour and everyday to try to win.
For instance if you want to sign up for all the giveaways today, you will log on at 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm, and 6pm (Eastern Times) and enter your information into the form and then click Submit.
When will I be notified if I am a winner?
Winners will be selected by random drawing from all eligible entries received for each sweepstakes on or about September 21, 2009. Any potential winner will be notified by mail, email and/or telephone.
Update! Some readers left comments below this post indicating that the first item of the day is run like a sweepstakes but that the prizes for the rest of the hourly giveaways are given to the first people to get their entry in. I cannot verify this because it isn’t in the rules but others have said they read it on the site so be aware of this when entering.
For a list containing the names of the winners, send a self-addressed stamped envelope, within six (6) months of the Drawing Date, to: Winner List, “August 2009 Free Stuff Sweepstakes,” Allure Magazine, 4 Times Square, 10th floor, New York, NY 10036
Concerning Automated Entries
The use of Roboform is perfectly fine for entering Allure giveaways because remember, Roboform only fills out the form but you still have to manually click Submit so that is not considered an automated entry.
Sponsor, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process or the operation of the web site. Use of bots or other automated process to enter is prohibited and may result in disqualification at the sole discretion of Sponsor.
These Giveaways are possible to win! Brandie had a reader last week who received an email stating that she had won a Biore product from Allure. The Biore product was from the July Giveaways.

Thanks Brandie for finding the answers about the Allure Hourly Giveaways.
I've been getting items in the mail daily from Allure. They did this awhile back with Olay products.
So it is not first come first serve for the hourly giveaways? I was under the impression that the first 250 or 500 would get the product.
I also thought it was first come first serve. I've been trying to enter the giveaways every hour as close to the hour as possible.
It appears they are doing a random drawing per the rules https://secure.allure.com/freestuff/sweeps/freestuff_200908_a/entry/rules/ so in that case, no it is not the first people to get in on it in the hour. They are doing it as a regular sweepstakes not a freebie giveaway
So should we not use the "Fill and Submit" button with Roboform? I do that all the time and didn't realize it was violating the rules.
Personally, I would never use the fill and submit option. Fill Form is fine but make sure you Submit manually.
I think that the first product for each day is run like a sweepstakes. For the subsequent products, they all say 'First 100' or 'first 250.' I know I have won 4 things so far from Allure but they were from the June giveaway month. They were run the same way where you had to be one of the first people to register.
I agree with Beth that I think it is only the first item of the day is run like a sweepstakes. The beauty products that start at 1:00 clearly state the first "500" (or however many) and those items are not addressed in the rules.
Thanks for all of the information. This Allure giveaway has been very confusing for me as well.
I have tried to use this site but my iMac puts up a warning that the site is coming from a different one and someone is trying to get my information.
Has this happened to any one else?
Thanks for clearing up the rules. I entered in the July giveaway and haven't heard anything. I thought I must have been one of the first 500 at least once. I'm glad to know others are receiving products.
I heard that it can take several months to receive the product if you won.
I entered back in june and am just now getting prizes in the mail. I try to enter as close to the hour as I can using roboform then submit.
Sometimes however I have noticed that you have to select your shade on some products and the option to select the shade is not available. and sometimes when I enter for the next hour the option to select your shade is still there. It is very confusing. It makes me unsure if I am entering too early or not doing it right. I guess if I win then I'll know for sure.

What Time clock are people using? I am using timeanddate.com
I am using time.gov
Thanks for the info.. do you guys Enter then fill out the form on the hour or do you have it pre-filled and just hit submit?
I won a $40.oo tri aktiline Moisturizer from Allure. I was not notified, it just came in the mail! So it was a nice suprise!
My sister and I each received a FX Curling styling spray and she also received a diffusor for home scents. I have tracked the FX curling spray to this Allure Sweepstakes. It was offered on August 31 at 6:00 pm EST to the first 500 entrants. I believe the diffusor came from this sweepstakes as well..All 3 packages were delivered after 1-6-2010. I live in Chicago, Illinois and my sister lives in Austin, Texas, so we can't blame the mail man.(in this case UPS) So watch the mail box, there may be more winners here….
