is there a limit to how many entries? I understand that it is one per envelope. And, can it be a 3×5 blank(not lined) index card?
It appears to be one entry per day. It cannot be an index card. It needs to be paper. If you don’t have 3×5 papers you can cut them using printer paper. I get my 3×5 papers at Staples. They are the only ones around that sell white ones. It costs like $5 to get 1,000 papers. They will last you forever.
Hi, do the ones you get at staples could you print your info on them and print them, or does it depend on the contest ?
My post office never has post cards can you recommend somewhere to buy them ? thanks
You cannot use postcards to enter this sweepstakes. You have to use 3″ x 5″ papers. You can get them at Walmart but they usually don’t sell them in white. I don’t use any colors just in case it would disqualify me. I usually just buy the 1,000 piece package from Staples. Here they are http://www.staples.com/Staples-Glue-Top-Scratch-Pads-3x-5-White/product_163436?cmArea=SEARCH
I just mailed in hundreds of index cards! In the rules, it did not say anything about no index cards or specify the thickness of the paper. Do you think all my entries will be void?
The rule, see above, say to mail in 3 x 5 papers, which are not index cards. A paper is something you would put in your printer. An index card is thicker. You can buy packs of both at Staples. Maybe they won’t be picky. Sometimes they aren’t. I hope you mailed each of them individually in envelopes. If you put all of them in 1 envelope you would be disqualified because all sweepstakes entries go individually in 1 envelope at a time unless they say you can put all together, which this sweepstakes does not. Please watch my video no mail-ins under the “Teach Me How” Category on the menu.
So does that mean that I could send out 15 envelopes on the same day as long as the date on the lower left corner states a different date?
Also, Are they not doing the contest in July and December?
Lastly, They don’t want a phone number on the entry form?
Thank you
Shelly
Yes, it appears you can enter as much as you want as long as each entry is in a separate envelope. Yes they are doing it in July and August. Nicole just forgot to put a little bit of information. The monthly dates are bonus entries. I just updated the post now. No, they don’t ask for a phone number, probably because they say, Winners will be notified by mail.
I noticed in the official rules this statement- “In order to be eligible to receive a prize, potential winner’s Discover Card account(s) must be in good standing at time of winner selection”
Do you have to have a Discover card to get a prize? Thanks
That line is for Discover card members who win by making a purchase. If you are mailing in your entry it does not apply. This sweepstakes is open to anyone whether they have a Discover card or not.
This might sound stupid, but i’m going to ask anyway….when I put the date on the envelope do I put today’s date (6-1-10) or the month of the drawing that I want to enter (June 1-30 2010). I’m just kind of confused….sorry
They really don’t say but since they are showing the dates as 00/00/0000 I would put them in that format.
My interpretation was that you put the date on the envelope for the day you want to enter.
IMPORTANT: You must indicate on the lower front left side of your mailing envelope the date of the daily random drawing (from 1/1/10 through 12/31/10) you wish to enter.
So, I chose one date well in advance of when I was mailing them and sent in multiple entries for that date instead of sending in one mailin entry per daily drawing.
Hi Sweetie,
I don’t understand why this one has good odds. Aren’t there millions of people who use their Discover Card everyday even with no intention of entering this?
Well the sheer amount of prizes is one good thing and also they will most likely be picking some winners from the mail-in entries. They wouldn’t have that option if they weren’t.
I’d assume though that the mail in entries would go into the same pool as all the entries from the credit cards. Or do you know if they’re entered in a separate pool? According to creditcards.com discover had an annual volume of 1.6 billion transactions, so in one month say there’s 100 million purchases. That means there’s about a 1/50,000 chance of winning a prize. Not something I’m looking to throw my stamps at. But if you know mail in entries get a separate pool then that’d change the odds a lot.
I can’t guarantee there will be a separate pool for mail-ins. I just know that if they are allowing you to send in entries in the mail they will pick from the mail-in entries.
I know this sounds stupid but is it the left side as you face the envelope or the left side of the envelope if you were holding it with the back to you… meaning the side of the stamp or the other side?
Thanks
