Everyone is a newbie at something at some point in their lives. If you are a newbie to the hobby of sweepstakes then you might not know some of these basic things.
Complete Information: Make sure you enter all of the information a sweepstakes asks you for whether you are filling out an entry form online or sending in an entry by mail. Always give your correct address, phone, and email address. If you win this information is what will be used to notify you.
Separate Email Address: It is a good idea to setup a separate email address to be used just for entering sweepstakes. This separates your personal emails from your sweepstakes emails and helps you to keep track of winning emails notifications.
Hand Written Entries: When sending in entries by mail for a sweepstakes always look at the rules to see what is required. If the rules states that you must not print or type your entry then you need to hand write everything. You can still use return address labels but your actual entry and the address you are sending the entry to on the envelope should be hand written.
Entering More Than Allowed: Once again, this goes back to following the rules. If the sweepstakes states that you can only enter once then do not try to enter again even if the entry form allows you to. You are disqualifying yourself by entering more than is allowed.
Putting A Postcard Inside Of An Envelope: If you are entering a mail-in sweepstakes that requires a postcard then do not put that into an envelope. A postcard always gets sent by itself. And, you can use postcard stamps which will save you money because they are cheaper than first-class stamps.
When you follow the rules you will have a great chance of winning a prize through a sweepstakes. Good luck and happy sweeping!
