Purina is searching for the ultimate snugglers. One puppy and one kitten could each win $25,000! Puppy Chow and Kitten Chow believe snuggles make the world better. That’s why we’re searching for the ultimate snugglers to join our Chief Snuggle Officer team — one for the Puppy Division and one for the Kitten Division.
To enter, you will need to upload an essay that is up to 1200 characters explaining how your puppy or kitten has the qualities to be the “Chief Snuggle Officer”, and upload between 3 and 5 photos (minimum of 3 photos) and one video between 15 to 30 seconds (15 seconds minimum, 30 seconds maximum) of your puppy or kitten that is featured in the Essay.
ELIGIBILITY: US, 18+/age of majority
END DATE: July 17, 2026
LIMIT: one Submission per person per kitten or puppy
The Entry Period begins on July 1 at 12:00 AM ET and ends July 17 at 11:59:59 PM ET
The Finalists’ Judging Period will run from July 18 through August 16
The Popular Voting Period will begin on August 17 at 12:00:00 AM ET and end on September 30 at 11:59:59 PM ET
The Grand Prize Period will occur on or about October 2.
Submission Guidelines:
- The puppy or kitten featured in the Submission must be under 12 months of age at the time of submission
- The puppy or kitten appearing in the Submission must belong to the entrant submitting the Submission
- No major editing/retouching that alters the overall composition of the Photos or Video may be done to the Photos or Video
- The photo or Video must be taken within 30 days of the Submission
- The Submission may not depict the puppy or kitten in an unsafe situation
- The Photos or Videos may not be captured by a hired photographer, videographer or generated by Artificial Intelligence (AI)
- The Photos or videos must not contain any humans. Any Photos or Video featuring human subjects will be disqualified
Entry Limit: one Submission per person per kitten or puppy during the entire Contest Entry Period (i.e., if the entrant has more than one puppy or kitten, that entrant may submit separate Submissions for each puppy or kitten).
Each Submission will be separated into two categories: one Category will feature puppies, and one Category will feature kittens. During the Finalist Judging Period, all eligible Submissions received during the Contest Entry Period will be judged by an independent judging panel using the following judging criteria and percentages: (i) Personality & Charm: the Submission shows the puppy or kitten to be loveable and have a unique personality that fits a “Chief Snuggle Officer” title (35%); (ii) Snuggle Skills: the puppy or kitten in the Submission demonstrates warmth, affection, and the spirit of cuddly leadership (30%); (iii) Creativity: The Submission is fun, imaginative, and engaging as a “pet resume” (25%); and (iv) Presentation: The Submission is clear, the Photos and Video is high-quality and focused on the entrants puppy or kitten (10%):
The six (6) confirmed Finalists (three from each Category) will each have their Submissions posted on the Sponsor’s website at purina.com/chiefsnuggleofficer and on the myPurina mobile app during the Popular Voting Period. Members of the general public can visit the Website or log in through the App and vote for their favorite Submission in each Category. To cast a vote using the App, you must first download the free myPurina App from the app store on your mobile device and register in the App. Once you have registered in the App, you will be eligible to cast your vote(s). All Popular Votes must be cast by 11:59:59 PM ET on September 30, 2026, to be counted as valid. Limit one vote per person per Category per calendar day per platform (i.e., via the Website and via the App).
Two (2) Grand Prizes: A check for $25,000.00, made out to each Grand Prize winner, plus $250 worth of Adult Dog Chow or Adult Cat Chow product awarded in the form of manufacturer coupons, and exclusive features in Chief Snuggle Officer Marketing (as determined solely by Sponsor in its sole discretion). ARV: $25,250.00 each.
In addition, Sponsor will donate $10,000.00 to each shelter located in or near the city where each Grand Prize winner resides, to be selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion (for a total of two (2) donations).
