As required by law, the rules say no purchase necessary. But I don’t see a way in the rules to enter without purchase of food items including their product. I wrote them on their contact page to ask how to enter without purchase.
Go to store, take picture of a few things next to the sausage, then walk out = no purchase necessary for a person that can figure out how to get around the rules. Think outside of the box 🙂
Reply from company says photo needs “to show us what you’re cooking with Hillshire Farm® Smoked Sausage”. So it sounds that photo at store wouldn’t work and there’s no AMOE. I wrote them back.
Seems like-More and more companies are following the sweepstakes laws less and less when it comes to AMOE and getting away with it.
Laura, I agree. I see a trend toward either implying product purchase or requiring it as in this case. The reply from this sponsor, Consumer Affairs at Tyson, said no purchase needed but said the photo needs “to show us what you’re cooking with Hillshire Farm® Smoked Sausage”
Previous Tyson sweeps did not require purchase.
I think push back is needed. Please think about also writing them so it’s not just one person. Contact for sponsor: http://www.hillshirefarm.com/contact-us (goes to owner, Tyson Foods).
I sent them a link to this article on same issue:
http://polhudson.lohudblogs.com/2013/06/06/schneiderman-ap-ran-misleading-sweepstakes/
Thanx for the link…I also told them we aren’t required to buy the product to enter the sweeps.
OH>>>I also wanted to ask about adding the hashtag>>> where does it have a place to put that?
Can you use the same photo for all three entries, I wonder? Anybody know?
There is a mail-in AMOE in the rules – no photo required.
