Woo Hoo my new car and enough cash to put a down payment on a home!!!!
Cash is for taxes
I love Camaros.
Who won the Camaro?
Has anyone got prize notifications for this Sweeps? I got one but don’t know which prize I’ve won yet.
I got a prize notification yesterday along with all the forms to fill out (W-9, Affidavit, etc.) Like you said, they don’t tell you what you’ve won yet.
Most places will tell me the prize I won! I don’t want to go all over town, pay for a notary, fill out forms, mail or go to Staples to the fax them in or mail them out, only to find out it’s something I WOULD RATHER NOT HAVE and it’s not worth it to me to pay the taxes on!!!!! THAT’S JUST WRONG using the excuse to avoid fraud, then don’t tell you the prize. I don’t believe that excuse. I know what the real reason is: a lot of people don’t want to pay taxes on these prizes and reject them and they just want to get rid of them and not have to stick around picking new names, monitoring more email deadlines for these new people, etc. I see one already that would be ridiculous for me: a 1,800 gargage storge system, and I don’t even have a garage!!!! I’m going to email them and say look, I don’t think the Grizzly sponsor knows you’re not giving us the opportunity to reject the prize and pick a new person WITHOUT having to sign the affidavit and supply all that information! I’m going to email Grizzly as well. I just got power back from Hurricane Irma after a WEEK and now this prize place wants to do THIS TO ME???? I just want to know what the heck it is. Once I won a 400 dollar baby car seat because I ASKED about the prize. I’m nearly 60…I don’t need a carseat either!
yea, the administrator of the giveaway specifically says that they don’t reveal the prize to avoid fraud. I get what you mean… I don’t have the room for that 10 Piece Garage Storage System, if that’s what I won, and I certainly don’t want to pay taxes on it (25% of $1,800 is $450!). But then… what if it’s the car??
Notary’s are free, they sent label to fed ex back, all you have to do is fill out got get signature notarized and drop off at a fed ex or drop spot.
Why play if your going to complain. jmo
The only complaint I see is the prize administrators choosing not to reveal what prize you won until you jump through the hoops of printing the label, getting the notarized affidavit statement (some people without bank connections may even have to pay for that service), and filling out a W9 tax form that clearly gives them the right to report your win to the IRS. Every single prize I ever won they told me in an email what I won, plain and simple. Nobody ever said sign all the official documents and pay taxes on an unknown prize. The reason it’s a legit complaint is people have a right to turn down a prize, reject it outright, if they don’t feel that particular prize is worth the TAXES. I know plent of guys who if there were three prizes and one was a beauty spa treatment worth 2,000 bucks they’d turn it down, or like if one of the prizes were an international trip they couldn’t possibly go on they wouldn’t want to be forced to pay the taxes on a 10,000 trip they can’t go on. I think people have a right to be told what they won and to let them decide whether to accept it or not. This company was saying agree first on paper, notarized no less, and you’ll have to figure out a way to tell us you don’t want it and hope we will even honor that request since you already signed the documents needed for acceptance of it and the taxes on it. If you know sweepstakes by now, you know by now that’s not what normally happens. People turn down prizes for many different and often personal reasons, and it’s not complaining about the process they agreed to play in if the process for that particular sweeps is not usual or the norm. Not tellling you what you won until signing that you want is totally not the norm and it’s just not “the game” that’s normally played, that’s why the complaints are valid and not petty.
I wona instant prize and not received it yet
“plus $25,000 in cash to make your own modifications (or spend however you’d like).”
LMAO. Don’t be fooled. You won’t be using that 25k for anything besides taxes, which is why they include that check. Federal taxes will be 25%. 25% of $100,000 is…. you guessed it…. $25,000.
I was just checking this too as I won an IW prize 7/23. I wrote “Grizzly” in my win book and think this is the sweeps as the screen said I won the 199.00 Workbench. That prize is listed here so I am certain this is the one. I filled out the form and submitted and got a screen that said my prize was on the way. I have heard nothing since and lost the screen when I got too excited and went to the rules to see what that prize actually was, (lol) so I didn’t get it printed. Never even received a confirmation either. Just the msg on the screen that I had won. I jotted down the time and date. Just wondering if anyone else got anything yet.
Doesn’t matter. I never win
