Hey! So I figured I’d throw my hat in the ring here because honestly, why not? I’m Morgan Farris, a graphic designer living in the little community of Irishtown, NB with my husband. Life out here is pretty quiet in the best possible way, and I spend most of my days working with colors, layouts, and trying to make things look beautiful on a screen.
Design has always been my passion, but it’s more than just a job to me. There’s something really satisfying about taking someone’s idea and turning it into something visual that actually moves people. I’ve been doing this long enough now that I feel like I’ve genuinely found my groove, and I love every messy, creative minute of it.
Living in a smaller community means you really lean into the people around you and find joy in the simpler things. My husband and I have built a really cozy life here, and I think that sense of home and belonging influences everything I create. I bring a lot of heart into my work, and I think that shows.
Anyway, I’d be so grateful to be considered for this. Thanks so much for the opportunity, it truly means a lot!
Hey! So I figured I’d throw my hat in the ring for this one because honestly, why not, right?
My name is Morgan Farris and I’m a graphic designer living in the little community of Irishtown, New Brunswick with my spouse. Small town life suits us just fine — there’s something really grounding about it, even when the winters make you question every life decision you’ve ever made.
Design work keeps me busy and creative, which I love, but like most people, there’s always something pulling at me beyond the day-to-day hustle. I’m someone who genuinely gets excited about new experiences and opportunities, and this contest felt like one of those things I’d kick myself for not entering.
Irishtown isn’t exactly a bustling metropolis, so when something exciting comes along, you grab it. My spouse would probably say I enter too many contests, but I prefer to think of myself as optimistic with a healthy appreciation for good timing and a little bit of luck.
I’d be so grateful for the chance here, and I promise I’m the kind of person who truly appreciates things when they come my way. Fingers crossed and thank you so much for considering me!
I need the car.
I never imagined that staying home could feel like the most purposeful work I’ve ever done, but here in Irishtown, that’s exactly what it’s become. My days are built around the people I love most — my husband and our family — and there’s a quiet dignity in that I’ve come to deeply appreciate.
Living in a small community like ours has shaped the way I see contribution. It doesn’t always look like a title or a paycheck. Sometimes it looks like a warm kitchen, a steady presence, and showing up for the people around you day after day without fanfare. I’ve learned that the most meaningful things rarely come with recognition attached.
My husband and I have built something together that I’m genuinely proud of — a life grounded in commitment, in showing up, and in finding joy in the ordinary. New Brunswick has a way of reminding you what matters. The pace here invites you to be present, to notice things, and to invest in what’s real rather than what’s convenient.
I entered this contest because I believe that everyday lives — lives like mine — are worth celebrating. I’m grateful for the opportunity to share a small piece of mine.
