Eligibility: open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least the age of majority in their state of residence (which is eighteen (18) years of age, except for Alabama and Nebraska where the age of majority is nineteen (19) years of age, and Mississippi where the age of majority is twenty-one (21) years of age) at the time of entry, and a current home owner with a forced air system.

Submit an essay (up to 1,000 words) and up to two pictures of your home demonstrating why your home is deserving of remodeling
One Grand Prize: $30,000 worth of home repairs/renovations/inspection. A Holmes Approved inspector will do the inspection and a Holmes Approved Contractor will do the subsequent repairs, all of which will be coordinated by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. ARV: $30,000
Four First Prizes: $5,000
Initial Judging: After the conclusion of the Contest Period, a panel of qualified judges will select the top 40 entrants with the highest scoring Submissions from among all eligible Submissions received:
- Quality of Submission – Images (20%)
- Quality of Submission – Essay (30%)
- Fit to Contest Theme (50%)
Finalist Judging: After the Finalists have been determined, Mike Holmes in his sole discretion will select the potential Grand and First Prize winners from among the Finalists, based on an application of the following criteria:
- Creativity/Originality of Submission (10%)
- Fit to Contest Theme (40%)
- Severity of Remodel Need (50%)
Potential winners will be notified by email, mail or phone on or around July 19, 2013.
Terrific contest, but it is a pain in the tailfeathers, to me, to write your entry on one loooooooog line, without being able to compose, or edit, or look over it to see if one has repeated oneself. If I had it to do over, I’d write my entry into Word, print it up, then copy it onto the contest site. Good luck to all!

This is just what I need. It was confusing, because I had 2 photos to upload, and it wouldn’t let me put them both in with the essay. After I submitted the essay, it gave me a chance to add a second photo.
