Calling all lard lovers! Do you have an original recipe that features lard? If so, Coast Packing invites you to enter their Annual Recipe Contest. Home cooks, professional chefs, and food lovers everywhere to bring back family favorites and cultural classics, updated for modern kitchens and powered by real, natural lard.
Just submit your best heritage-inspired recipe reimagined for modern times, using lard as a key ingredient.

LIMIT: One Entry
Each entry must include:
- Recipe title
- Full ingredient list
- Step-by-step instructions
- At least one clear photo of the finished dish.
Optional short essay: “How I Reinvented My Traditional Recipe Using Lard” — You may include a short optional essay describing how lard helped you reimagine a traditional family or cultural recipe for today’s kitchen — why the original recipe matters to you or your family, what change or adaptation you made, or how lard transformed the taste, texture, or authenticity of the dish.
Entries are judged on flavor authenticity, creativity, integration of lard, and visual presentation.

Each recipe submitted must be approved by Coast Corporate Chef, Greg Hozinsky. Recipes may be approved or rejected based on suitability (for example, must comply with rules) for the Contest at the discretion of Coast Packing Co. Only those recipes approved will be deemed eligible to win the Contest. Coast Packing Co. reserves the right to reject any entries that it deems, in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate, for any reason whatsoever.
The judging period will begin on December 9, 2025 and conclude on December 11, 2025; winners will be announced on or around Friday, December 12, 2025. Winners must agree to have their name and photo included in Coast’s news release announcing contest winners.
Coast Corporate Chef, Greg Hozinsky, will determine the finalists in the Sweet and Savory categories, based on the following criteria: creativity, visual appeal, and ease of execution (how easy is this recipe to make by the average home cook). Recipes determined to be finalists will be prepared (cooked) by Chef Greg, who will identify first and second place winners in both categories. The decision of the judge is final.
