Someone sent this to me and it sums up some of the things we often need to be reminded of – well, I know I do. Gift suggestions for this holiday season:
To your enemy – forgiveness
To an opponent – tolerance
To a friend – your heart
To a customer – service
To all – charity
To every child – a good example
To yourself – respect
Today I’m enjoying Christmas with my family. We’re eating lots of food we shouldn’t, drinking eggnog and beer, probably playing games and doing puzzles, sitting by the fire, looking out of the window at the snow, fighting, arguing, and throwing things – wait, I forgot to read that list above – back to eating again, the grandbaby is crying, the cat is chasing the dog (yes, I know, odd house), someone is complaining that they didn’t get what they want, and Dad is taking a nap on the couch. Yes, it’s definitely our family and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I hope you get to go some of the very same things with your family too – enjoy the holiday!
I’m the one in the middle 🙂
Merry Christmas to you too Wendy have a Blessed and Relaxing day.
I knew you were the one in the middle! Merry Christmas Wendy and Have a Happy New Year! Jamie
Thank you for sharing with us. Merry Christmas Sweetie:)
LOL…my house is the same way! I always think to an outsider we look so chaotic, so much is going on. Thirteen at the table and all kinds of loud conversations, laughing – sheer craziness! Gotta love it! Some people don't get that kind of quirky closeness! I'm grateful! Merry Christmas and Happy Hannuka to all!
Merry christmas! This was a great reminder.
Cher 🙂
Merry Christmas Wendy!
Our house is a little nutty too – but that's what makes it special!

The festival of Christmas has a special significance in everyone's life. Though Christmas is considered to be the primary festival of the Christian calendar but today it is a part of all religions and is a universal festival. Christmas celebrates humanity and mankind and conveys message of love, tolerance and brotherhood. It is celebrated on the 25th December, the date when Jesus Christ was born. The word Christmas is derived from an early English phrase 'Cristes maesse', that means 'Mass of Christ'. According to many scholars, the festival originated in the 4th century as a Christian substitute for pagan celebrations of the winter solstice many years before the Christ child was born. 25th December is first mentioned as the birth date of Jesus Christ in 336 AD in an early Roman calendar.
