Sometimes when you enter a sweepstakes it will mention in the official rules that it is a “sweepstakes creative presentation”. So, just what does that mean? This type of sweepstakes is not one that requires that you are creative to enter. The word creative in this situation means a completely different thing.
When you enter a sweepstakes that is called a creative you will see something like this in the official rules:
The Grand Prize Drawing is offered in conjunction with multiple companies through different Web sites (“Creative Presentations”), announcing many different prizes. One (1) winner will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received through all Creative Presentations. The prize for which an entrant is eligible depends on the Creative Presentation through which the entrant entered the Grand Prize Drawing.
A sweepstakes creative is a sweepstakes where a group of companies work together to hold a portion of the sweepstakes. There may be 10, 20, 30 or more companies who have “bought in” to help pay for that one prize. Many times the prize is $10,000 or $50,000 in cash. Each company pays a portion of the money when the winner is picked.
Many times the sweepstakes will have an instant win game associated with it and just the sweepstakes prize is considered the creative presentation. The instant win game is probably sponsored by just 1 company and that 1 company is also a part of the collective “creative” group of companies as well.
While the instant win portion of the promotion may have very good odds the creative portion will not. It is because there are usually many, many sweepstakes all participating and out of all of those sweepstakes only one winner will be chosen. There could be hundreds of sweepstakes participating and you don’t know how many there are. Each sweepstakes is going to have thousands of entrants and all of the entrants from all of the sweepstakes who are participating in the creative will be combined and that 1 winner will be chosen out of all of the entrants.
If you are entering a sweepstakes creative and it also has an instant win game portion then do enter the instant win game as many times as you are allowed because that portion is separate and will be drawn by the sponsor that is hosting that instant win game. Only the sweepstakes portion will be combined with all of the other websites participating in the creative promotion.
Thanks. This is helpful information.
Sometimes these creative presentations can be entered on each site that participates. How can we find all the sites for these entries?
They don’t tell you where all of the sites are unfortunately. Sometimes the rules will have them listed but not this time.
Thanks anyway for the info.
