Spring is here in Connecticut and I am so thrilled because being cooped up in the house for 6 long months is enough to drive a person crazy. I need light and air and flowers and sun! What I don’t need is dust and dirt so that means it’s time for Spring Cleaning.
Spring means it’s time for me to open the windows and watch the cat hair fly around the house. Yep, those darn long hair cars of mine are growing their own cats I think and I find myself chasing rolling cat balls down the hallway.
That’s Kitter – she’s not as innocent as she looks and is cause of some of the hair balls in this house.
P&G sent me some Spring products to try out and my favorite has to be the new Swiffer Duster Extender with the head that bends and handle that expands. Now I can clean the cat hair off the fan in the kitchen – yes, there’s even cat hair up there. I am loving this thing and will be using it a lot.
The handle expands so you can adjust it to be a long handle or a short handle. With the long handle I can reach all of the way up to the ceiling and on top of the fan blades.
Another thing they sent me was Cascade Complete Packs for the dishwasher. I’ve been wanting to try these and now that I have I think I am hooked. They are these little packettes that you put in your dishwasher instead of measuring out soap. No mess and they smell fresh. Another winner
The last thing in my box was Vicks Nature Fusion for coughs but since I haven’t been sick I will store that away until I need it.

We clean and bring in fresh flowers, a breath of fresh air!
We go through the kids toys and we have them pick out a bunch to donate.
I always get the garden ready and plant a planter of fresh herbs.
I usually don’t do a lot of spring cleaning, because my husband and I live in a pretty small apartment. I mean I clean, but not super cleaning, and I think it’s because this place just feels temporary. BUT, we are closing on our first house on April 11th!!! These products would majorly come in handy. I’m going to be cleaning like crazy!
I deep clean my house and declutter and clean up the yard, with 5 cats and 2 dogs I could definitely use the swiffer duster to get the pet hair off the fan(3 of the cats are long haired and get hair everywhere)
First sign of nice warm weather and we all head out to get the yard cleaned up. This year we have started repainting the exterior. Now If only the warm weather would come back so we can finish
We start the outdoor work, can’t wait to get out there and plant my flowers
I go through the closet and everywhere in the house getting rid of clutter or things we don’t need to keep.
That telltale dusting of yellow that you first notice on your car windshield is the beginning of Spring here. By the end of pine pollen season, every step I take outside the house results in a poof of yellow dust rising and then settling back; every surface out there is thoroughly coated! No matter how careful I am about keeping windows and doors closed, it manages to find it’s way inside as well. So, I wait for the annual yellowing to complete its cycle, and then begin the onerous task of removing it.
Thanks for the opportunity to win this great prize pack, Sweetie, and for all the sweeps you post throughout the year!!
Wash the windows and decks of yellow pollen that mother nature has covered. By the way,I have 5 ceiling fans and that new Swiffer looks fabulous.
When it starts to get warm, I open the windows and start to declutter.
As soon as I am able I open all the windows and start cleaning our backyard up. With two labs I like to get them into the backyard to burn off winter energy and quicly as possible.
When i Spring-Clean the first thing I think of is the fresh smell. I concentrate on more of what “stinks” than of what I can “see”. You can clean all you want but if a visitor enters your house they will notice the ODOR good or bad before anything else.
I start going through all the clutter that gathered over the cold months and then I make a big trip to the recycle center/thrift store. I love getting rid of the excess in spring!
We do the dreaded “clothes purging”, go through the closets and donate all those clothes from the 1980’s that I thought I would wear one day when they came back in style.
When the weather gets warm I love to clean from top bottom inside first and then move outdoors and do the same thing….
I spring clean the house, then I start on cleaning up the yard and flower beds!
When it starts getting warm I open all the windows and air out the air for fresh air.
As soon as it begins to get warm the outside furniture will be set up for use after a long hard day at work.
clean my windows
its been warm here in AZ since feb! so i already started to get rid of some clutter
I disinfect all the doorknops in the house.
Since we are in our second week of 80 and higher temps in Florida, we started about a month ago. We start on the inside of the house, top to bottom, then work on the outside. Of course the grill has been going for about 3 weeks now and the pool will be ready in next month! So the house gets cleaned early so that we can enjoy outside activites as soon as possible.
I open all the windows and get the fresh air flowing!
Working on the lawn, flower beds, and getting the garden ready
My husband and I work together as a team to conquer the inside and out. We pull weeds, mulch, dust and get our whole property looking good for the season. 🙂
