Spring is here in Connecticut and I am so thrilled because being cooped up in the house for 6 long months is enough to drive a person crazy. I need light and air and flowers and sun! What I don’t need is dust and dirt so that means it’s time for Spring Cleaning.
Spring means it’s time for me to open the windows and watch the cat hair fly around the house. Yep, those darn long hair cars of mine are growing their own cats I think and I find myself chasing rolling cat balls down the hallway.
That’s Kitter – she’s not as innocent as she looks and is cause of some of the hair balls in this house.
P&G sent me some Spring products to try out and my favorite has to be the new Swiffer Duster Extender with the head that bends and handle that expands. Now I can clean the cat hair off the fan in the kitchen – yes, there’s even cat hair up there. I am loving this thing and will be using it a lot.
The handle expands so you can adjust it to be a long handle or a short handle. With the long handle I can reach all of the way up to the ceiling and on top of the fan blades.
Another thing they sent me was Cascade Complete Packs for the dishwasher. I’ve been wanting to try these and now that I have I think I am hooked. They are these little packettes that you put in your dishwasher instead of measuring out soap. No mess and they smell fresh. Another winner
The last thing in my box was Vicks Nature Fusion for coughs but since I haven’t been sick I will store that away until I need it.

I hate cleaning so the first thing I do is lose the storm windows and install the screens. Nothing says Spring like fresh air and POLLEN! That’s when I need to get out the vacuum and clean like a wild woman. But dang that Spring air smells good.

I air out the house and turn on the air filter
I open the windows to let in the fresh air and plan a nice dinner on the deck – even if it is just PB&J, eating outside for the first meal of the season is always nice!
I clean the windows inside and out!
I usually do a complete cleaning. Moving furniture to re arrange and go through what is in the closets to clean out what we do not need anymore.
clean the screened in porch area & put my jungle of flowers back out on the patio
I gather up my kids and wash windows!
Spring cleaning? Quick…call Merry Maids!
I take one day and get organized, then the next time, a day to clean from top to bottom!
I do a little decorating. I put out candles in fresh spring scents. I move the furniture around. I put some bright colors in the rooms (throw pillows, rugs).
I usually get my carpet cleaned after being cooped in all winter with three cats, a dog, a several teens. But this year I splurged and bought a Bissel Carpet cleaner!
i like to garden
When it gets warm in Florida, we do the opposite! That is when the house gets shut up for the summer, and the AC is on for months!!! Our version of “spring cleaning” is usually done in the fall.
I do all of my yard work at the first sign of warm weather, so I can get it over with….
I clean out closets. Its amazing how many things get tucked away during the winter. A fresh start for a new season.
I need to cleasn it from top to bottom, especially to get out the smoke smell which lasts all winter!
The first I do when it starts getting warm is open the windows so the fresh air can come in .I think it makes everyone happier when the sunshine aka “happy rays” come in and hit them ! After that,I start cleaning the house !
I clean everything!
I throw away things I never used for more than 2 years!!
A little of both. Weeding, dusting.
I hire a maid to do a one time spring cleaning of the whole house and I plant some seeds to grow a nice vegetable garden.
We plant a few seeds and start doing more activities outside
I like to rearrange the furniture to liven things up a bit.
