Spring is here in Connecticut and I am so thrilled because being cooped up in the house for 6 long months is enough to drive a person crazy. I need light and air and flowers and sun! What I don’t need is dust and dirt so that means it’s time for Spring Cleaning.
Spring means it’s time for me to open the windows and watch the cat hair fly around the house. Yep, those darn long hair cars of mine are growing their own cats I think and I find myself chasing rolling cat balls down the hallway.
That’s Kitter – she’s not as innocent as she looks and is cause of some of the hair balls in this house.
P&G sent me some Spring products to try out and my favorite has to be the new Swiffer Duster Extender with the head that bends and handle that expands. Now I can clean the cat hair off the fan in the kitchen – yes, there’s even cat hair up there. I am loving this thing and will be using it a lot.
The handle expands so you can adjust it to be a long handle or a short handle. With the long handle I can reach all of the way up to the ceiling and on top of the fan blades.
Another thing they sent me was Cascade Complete Packs for the dishwasher. I’ve been wanting to try these and now that I have I think I am hooked. They are these little packettes that you put in your dishwasher instead of measuring out soap. No mess and they smell fresh. Another winner
The last thing in my box was Vicks Nature Fusion for coughs but since I haven’t been sick I will store that away until I need it.

i love to get out all of our colorful warm weather clothes and pack away all the heavy drab sweaters.
When it starts to warm up, I open all the windows in my house.
I clean all the windows, window treatments, blinds, and ceiling fans. So I can enjoy the sunlight coming in and spring air moving moving through the house!
I open up all the windows and turn off the A/C when it gets cool out here in Tampa. I feel like I live in the A/C all the time so the moment its cool out and there is not humidity the house gets all the windows open and let the fresh air come in at the same time I clean the house…….
i open up the windows and let the fresh air move out the stale winter air.
The pre-made dish packs really help with portion control when husbands and kids start helping with the dishes!!
I tear each room apart one at a time. Usually spend a day on each room
As soon as it’s gets warm, i clean then open all the windows. i start at one end of the house and go thru cleaning to the other end. all the fresh air and sunshine helps keep me goin.
I wash all the windows inside and out, put new linens on the beds, wash the curtains, and clean the floors. Then when it gets warm enough, we take out the lawn furnature!!
I put dusty throw rugs in the dryer with a damp towel and scented dryer sheets, and tumble them for ten minutes AFTER I have shaken them outside in the spring breezes. Rugs are refreshed, dust free and smell awesome!
I always buy blooming plants as soon as I see them and then have to replace them after the last frost of the season in West Tennessee which is always a surprise from Mother Nature. I also pack up any clothing that even looks like winter and bring out the summer clothes and a few light weight sweaters for evening.
I like to wash and iron curtains and drapes
I start cleaning from top to bottom. I do love Spring but every year I have to clean the garage, it always smells odd from the winter. It’s hard to get started but afterwards its all worth it. The boys love finding their bikes and stuff to play outside. So I have to get going, and soon. I also LOVe flowers, so I have to start planting. Spring cleaning here I come…I need to get motivated!!
I spring clean right before summer and clean top of cabinets and windows, blinds etc.
I have to start early in the morning. I open the house up, turn the TV’s on in every room..lol. Then I start cleaning from the back of the house to the front. Clean out all the cabinets, dust everything, wipe down the walls and light candles to make each room smell fresh. It’s a full day’s work but feels good when it is done.
I clean up the garden!
i need to do windows but im dreading it
soon as its warm i take my cocker for a new haircut…
I always clean the windows. I love lean windows! 🙂
I clean from top to bottom, all the doors and windows have been open for several weeks here in Alabama, i thoroughly clean each room, and have already put up anything winter, we are in flip flop mode now, and i just love it, the carpets are getting shampooed this week and i will be starting my seeds that will be plants for the garden within the next month, gotta wait on blackberry winter down here or the seedlings will get nipped by frost, cant wait to go get me new annuals for the flower beds, wish we only had spring and summer and 1st half of fall, i am not at all fond of cold weather but i do love a clean and fresh smelling home.
I clean off the deck, get out the chairs, and open the pool!
The first thing I do is open the windows, to let the fresh air in….but the first cleaning job is do is to wash all the small area rugs and hang them out on the liine to dry
First I enlist the help of all of my children. we each get a designated area to clean from top to bottom. we get it all knocked out in one day. we then tackle the yard, flower beds and clean all vehicles the next week. after we are done, i have a nice party with my children to show them how much i appreciate all of their help. It gives them a sense of accomplishment when everything looks good and they know we all did this together.
I usually clean all the window first.
Like most people, I open the windows and let the sickie germs out!!
