By doing a wasp nest “search & destroy” around the house and yard and looking for any containers with standing water, emptying them, and, putting them where they can’t catch the next batch of raindrops!
We get ready with bug spray, sunscreen and flea spray so our dog molly is protected too.
I get ready for the outdoors by getting out my citronella candles and cleaning off all the salt and dirt from winter on my patio set. Thanks
We keep all the camping gear in the corner of the garage and waiting for the summertime so we can spend as much time on the river as we can. We are blessed to live right by New River (which is the oldest river on this content and flows backwards!)
I get ready for the outdoors by making sure I have plenty of recently purchased sunblock and natural insect spray, also good hats with wide brims and several pairs of sunglasses. I keep all my summer essentials in a large basket right by the door of our walkout basement. This makes for a quick find and quick to grab on the way out for a summer outing and fun!
We start with the opening of our pool and keeping it clean everyday in the summer. We get our lawn chairs out and cleaned up! Summer toys come out of storage!

WE get outdoor ready by making sure we have plenty of fresh sunscreen, everyone has a swimsuit that fits them, and we have to have our bug repellents and Listerine for when we get a bug bite.
We keep all our camping gear in big tubs marked “camping”. This allows to always know where everything is and makes packing super easy.

I get ready for the outdoors by making sure I have something to grill and a friend to grill it with.
I always have to invest in citronella candles and bug spray. The bugs eat me alive, most of the time I just have to go back in because I get bit so much. I must be extra sweet !
Where do I start? Since my husband is from Texas, he makes sure we always have lots of water on hand. Suncreen – check; snacks/other food – check; camping gear – checklist; paper products – check; chairs – check; fuel – check; swimsuits – check; change of clothes – check; insect repellent bracelets (my husband loves QVC) – check; reading material for the kids (in case of long drives to get where we’re going) – check. I think that’s it….
I’m always outdoor ready, especially in the summer, when I can find more time to work on my airplane.
