before we head outdoors for the evening i will fog the area where we will be sitting and keeping the grass cut low.
We get the portable grill set up with a tent in the back yard. We buy marshmallows, chocolate, and graham crackers. We pretend to camp out. The boys won’t stay out all night yet. 🙂
We have lots of little kids (4 that are 4 and under) so we do a couple trial runs camping in the backyard before we hit the great outdoors. This helps us know how the kids will react and sleep at night as well as figure out all the things we need with out being too far from the house.
We weed spread roundup around the trouble spots and put up our gazebo tent for the summer, clean the grill and we are good to go!
I ALWAYS revisit the lawn prior to the sun going down in case the stupid yellow jackets have burrowed into a new nest. I can always see them hovering above the grass as the temp cools. Once we’re in the clear, we’re out for the duration. Summer is the very best time of the year.

Living in Florida, we can’t go anywhere outside without some child-safe bug spray!!!
Well we take out the grill and we put up the tent. We put on sunscreen and bug spray. Were a big family n we do many sports while were out camping.

Wow get ready for the outdoors? I love the fall for the outdoor time. Beautiful here in northern New Hampshire. Get out the jackets and try some hiking.
To get outdoor ready I make sure I buy bugspray and light weight clothing.
Air up the tires on the bikes and use lots of bug repellent and sunscreen!
I get the cooler packed with lots of water and juice boxes with lots of ice!
Sunscreen, hat, shorts, and hiking boots.
I try to stay outdoor ready with choarcoal and lighter fluid ready for the grill. I try to keep a stock of shrimp, steaks and sausage in the freezer also. Kids love the outdoors and I think food just tastes better when it is cooked outside.
The first thing that came to mind is LOTS of bug spray. I have also learned to bring a roll of toilet paper along – need I say more??? Great giveaway!
