Here are some more sweepstakes questions readers have asked and my answers to them. Feel free to email me at [email protected] and I will answer your questions. If the question and/or answer can benefit other readers I will post it on the site.
Robert asked:
Whenever I get the option to “Click Here” if I can’t see the game for any sweeps, I sometimes click it to speed things up. Do you think this may be hurting my chances to win?
No, not at all. An instant win game is won based on a time that the sponsor has programmed into the game so skipping the game won’t hurt your chances of winning.

Cyndi asked:
What are the typical rules for entering your birthdate? Can you do the shorthand version of a two number year (instead of 1972, can you write 72, such as 8-6-72 or does it have to be 8-6-1972)? If the rules don’t specifically state that it must be the full year, do many sweeps throw out your entry if it is not written with the full year? Don’t know if this is petty stuff or not!
By mail I usually do either 00/00/00 or 00/00/0000. Online, the entry form will actually tell you how they want it. You should always include the year. You could write it like 00-00-00 but most of the time I see it with the / and sometimes sweepstakes will specify it needs to be that way so that is why I just do all of them that way.

Kris asked:
On contest that you can only enter once, is it best to wait till the last day or it does not matter?
It does not matter because the computer is going to pick a random entry and you have no way of knowing what that will be so enter when you find that sweepstakes and move on to the next one.
If you won a prize and it says 2 to 4 weeks and it has been 5, what would you do?
Every company is different when contacting you about a prize you won. Some will send an email within days and others drag it out. It all depends on how organized they are and sometimes they have to wait for prizes to be delivered or delivery to be organized. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes that you just don’t know about.
If I have not been notified or received a prize I was expecting I would find the contact information for that sweepstakes and email them. I would always be nice and just say that I found my name on a winner’s list, won a prize instantly, or received notification about a prize and that I was just checking in to see if there was anything else I needed to do to receive my prize. I would also mention that I was “so excited to be picked as a winner in the NAME HERE sweepstakes” and was looking forward to receiving my prize. Always sound grateful and appreciative. It goes along way in creating a good relationship with sponsors and judging agencies. Oh, it works well at the grocery store when you need to use coupons too 🙂
If you received a winning email you should be either able to reply to that email or find contact information somewhere in that email. If not, look for the original official rules page (that is why I keep the links to the official rules in all of my posts so you can go back later if you need to) and scroll to the very bottom where you will usually find contact information.
If that doesn’t work then go to my list of judging agencies page where you will find contact information for many of the top companies who run and promote sweepstakes.

LOVE YOUR SITE!!! Kris
Hi wendy,
I was wondering about sweepstakes from surveys you get on receipts from stores or restaurants. They ask you for feedback, and you get entered into sweeps. How are the odds for those? Are they worth entering?
Thanks for all the info! I love your site
Hi Wendy
In some rules it states that mechanically reproduced entries is not allowed,is my norton address filler a mechanically entry?
Thanks
Hi Wendy,
I deleted my cookies. Can that delete my entries into some sweepstakes? Thanks for all your help.
Hello, do you know if anyone has recieved their winning prizes from the Wonka contest this summer? I recieved email I won and I confirmed the info and sent back to them and the email said Id recieve prize but I still havent…wondering if anyone has? Thnaks
It appears that the Wonka prizes are starting to be sent out. I have been reading comments here and there about people getting their prizes. One lady said she got her gift certificates through the mail on 10/31
Since I got Windows 7-64, Keyboard Express will not work. I have tried several other similar programs and deleted every one. It may say it is compatible with Win 7, but 64-bit is another matter. I have Roboform – it’s fine. I’m looking for a keyboard hot-key freeware.
Any suggestions, Sweetie and friends?
Wendy, I need help!!
I just got a phone call saying I won a trip to Orlando Florida for 4 to DisneyWorld (sans airfare). But, the lady was very persistant in wanting my visa number to pay a “registration fee” of $194 per adult. I told her several times that I would not be giving her my visa number and needed to talk to my boyfriend first (is was sleeping and on nightshift). She wouldn’t have any of it and kept asking me for my Visa…like a robot or something! I finally woke him up and he told me he thought it was a scam, and at this point I was pretty frustrated. If I won something, why would they need money from me?! I don’t even have that much money to give her! UGH!! So subsequently we hung up the phone and she hasn’t called back, now I’m sitting here wondering if I lost out on DisneyWorld….
Is it normal for them to ask for money if you “won” something?
It sounds like a time share. That really isn’t a scam. You would get a free trip but they will still want you to pay that fee.
Thank you for your reply! Well, that’s what I thought..but we wouldn’t of been able to go anyway as Florida is very far away from us here in Canada and no airfare was included in the “prize” Plus, I just didn’t trust this lady at all. Also, she gave me a time/date that I had “entered” and I was not on the computer that day so it sounded fishy to me. Thank you again and your site rocks! I love that you didn’t forget about us Canucks 😉
