If you have been entering sweepstakes for awhile you probably know that you can sometimes share a sweepstakes on Twitter or Facebook to earn a bonus sweepstakes entries. More entries mean more chances to win.
There are two ways to earn bonus entries by sharing:
- You gain an entry if you share the giveaway on Facebook or Twitter. You actually earn the entry just for sharing only.
- You gain extra entries – sometimes unlimited entries – for each person who clicks on your referral link. You only gain the entry if someone clicks and enters and hasn’t entered before.
Look for the Unique Identifier on the end of the link
A referral link should be unique to you. The first part of the link could be a shortener – goo.gl or bit.ly or some other shortener – but it could also be the regular link to the entry form. It should have something unique on the end that identifies you as the entrant. When you share and someone clicks and enters using your link you gain entries.

Woobox referral pages often look like this. After you enter a giveaway you are presented with a unique referral link to share. You may or may not see the amount of entries received.
Bonus Entries From Rafflecopter Giveaways
Rafflecopter referral pages often look like this. After you enter a giveaway you are presented with this page. They tell you just how many entries you will gain for all tasks completed (follow, like, share, etc) and you can keep track of the amount of entries received.
These examples are just a few of the giveaway widgets we use on a day-to-day basis when we enter sweepstakes. The key thing you need to look for is the wording that tells you that you are gaining extra entries by sharing. Also, look for a unique identifier on the end of the URL to make sure you will gain extra sweepstakes entries.
