Michael P says
That’s smaller then the 3.5×5 accepted by the post office
Peggy says
Mail it in an envelope with proper postage to:
Mike says
Yeah, put in a envelope.
Angelina says
For what method did you use, would I say we hired an accountant to file our taxes?
Mike says
There are no right or wrong answers.
L says
This one sounds great..lots of winners and the entries roll over, good luck everybody 🙂
Jerry says
Would wait until Jan. 4th to mail entry per rules entry date is PM date
“based on the applicable Entry Date, which is the date your entry is postmarked”
Connie says
I agree with Jerry. If you mail now, I fear disqualification as it clearly states PM date and contest doesnt begin until Jan 4. What do you think Sweetie?
Danielle says
“This sweepstakes starts on January 4th but you can get your one entry in the mail now so it will be there for the first day’s drawing.”
So assuming ^ that is correct, mail it now. I just mailed mine off tonight and they will probably arrive there on the 4th or 5th.
Mike says
I wouldn’t sweat it, if it was the end of the promotion I’d be more concerned about the time stamp.
Nancy B says
3″ x 5″ notecard?? Could I use an Index card?
Mike says
Notecard is a another name for a Index Card, so yes
Nancy B says
Thanks Mike!
david says
$32,000,000 in prizes?? WOW
Saegan Anderson says
wow this is a huge sweepstakes…lots of prizes!! thanks!
CJB says
I really don’t think it’s necessary to write out the questions; that said, when I prepared my entry, I sort-of restated the question. For example, I wrote for the first question “I used TurboTax to file my 2015 taxes.”
It says to write your RESPONSES to the following questions.
Mike says
I’m sure it doesn’t hurt to do it either way.
Nick Manning says
There’s not enough room to write out the questions. Unless you write in tiny print, which only makes it harder to read and more likely to be not accepted. And it doesn’t start until the 4th, so why risk being disqualified by mailing before it starts. They give you enough time before the first drawing to mail it.
Mike says
Idk, I had plenty of room to write everything out & most likely it’s going to get run through a scanner so the computer doesn’t care how small yout write. Yes, it’s probably best to just hold off until Sunday to drop it in the mail, but again the letters are going to go through a mail sorting machine the cuts the envelope and removes the index card.
Everyone can do want they want…..
Good Luck 🙂
Nick Manning says
I always thought the entries are processed by people, and not by machines, though I’m not sure…I only put the numbers 1, 2, & 3, followed by my answers. To be honest, with this many winners, I’m almost expecting to win lol. Especially since most people don’t file their taxes until later, as most of us dont get all our tax forms until after January.
Mike says
Keep in mind the last Discovery ID sweeps had over 1 million entries for a $5,000 prize so we under estimate the amount of entries these promotions companies get on a daily basis. I would imagine almost everything is automated as much as possible. On regular sweep where there is a online entry & mail-Ins the mail-ins get scanned then turned into a computer entry.
Alison Matalanis says
Just curious Mike, how did you find out the number of entries in the Discovery sweeps?
Mike says
Discovery posted it
Kristina says
I am confused. We usually use H&R Block’s software but I can’t say I used them for my 2015 taxes when I haven’t done them yet, right? Or do you think they won’t be checking our answers?
Mike says
The promotions company is running this for H&R, there is no right or wrong answers , they are for survey purposes only.
addrienne mertens says
rules date chart says “Entry Date
On or Before ” 1/04-1/11
Joan Costello says
I agree with Kristina: KNOW ONE HAS DONE TAXES FOR 2015 BECAUSE YOU CAN’T EVEN GET YOUR W-2’s UNTIL AFTER THE FIRST OF THE YEAR. You would think that whomever created this promotion would have used the 2014 tax year as the reference point for participants. I can’t believe H&R Corporate didn’t catch this.
Mike says
They are trying to see if you use H&R regardless of what year. The bulk of the people entering will be the people getting their taxes done at a H&R office, not mail-ins.
Debbie M says
Nice one! Thx!
John says
So the rules state “Limit one prize per person throughout the Promotion Period.” Does this mean you spouse could also enter as well? Also, what about prizes per physical address, etc?
Mike says
It only says 1 per person not 1 per household so, yes your spouse can enter too.
Bleu says
I’m not even going to get excited about the number of prizes. Entered every sweepstakes last year with lots of prizes and didn’t win anything :-(. Going to do the mail in option.
david says
sent mine out already
Mary J says
According to the description above, the prize drawing doesn’t start until January 16th – so I’m not going to send my entry in until after January 4th.
Lt says
It says one entry per person right? so its like just one mail in entry plus, if your hubby enters then its a good chance to win then! crossing fingers here!
Teresa says
What do they mean by “what FORM did you use”?? Do they mean, for example, a 1040?
Mike says
That would be one of the forms you can use.
Teresa says
Thanks!
marric says
Mailed mine today.
Holly H says
Does the entry roll over to the next day or not? Because it also says “You will receive one entry into the Promotion based on the applicable Entry Date, which is the date your entry is postmarked.” So doesnt that mean it will only be for THAT particular day?
Mike says
In the end it really doesn’t matter if the 1 & only Entry rolls over or not, does it ? Nothing we can do or change.
Personally, I read it as it’s eligible for that day only, sent mine off and hope for a hit
Good luck
Tam says
‘Non-winning entries from each Daily Drawing will carry over into subsequent Daily Drawings’.
So it does carry over into the next day
Monica says
The rules say non winning entries will carry over
Monica says
Our odds are probably better in the beginning with mail ins because IRS doesnt accept returns until close to the end of the month so not too many people will be filing in office yet 🙂
Dana says
Can it be on an index card with the lines or does it have to be totally white on both sides?
Tam says
I just used 4 pieces of paper with lines glued together to make an index card lol
Teresa says
The rules don’t state which one but I only had lined index cards so I used them
