The Doodle 4 Google Contest to encourage eligible U.S. school students to use their creativity to create their own interpretation of the Google logo. One talented young artist (grades K-12) will see his or her artwork on the Google homepage and receive a $30,000 college scholarship and a $50,000 Google for Education technology grant for his or her school.

Eligibility: United States, enrolled in a private or public elementary or secondary school (grades K-12) or a home school (grades K-12) in the United States. Minors who enter must have the written consent of a parent or legal guardian in order to be eligible to receive any prizes. Contest is void in Puerto Rico, U.S. territories and possessions, outside of the U.S.

Create a Doodle that reflects your creative interpretation of the Google logo as it relates to the Contest theme “If I could invent one thing to make the world a better place…” and a supporting statement of fifty (50) words or less.
The doodle must be a completed on the official entry form. Once the Entry Form is fully completed, it should be printed on a light colored 8.5”X11” sheet of paper and signed by a parent/legal guardian.
Mail-in Entry: send in an envelope (packaged carefully so it won’t be damaged) with proper postage affixed, to one of the following mailing addresses:

Entry Limit: one entry per person
One (1) National Winner:
The National Winner will have his or her doodle featured on the U.S. Google.com homepage. He or she will be awarded a $30,000 college scholarship to be used at a school of his or her choice, a trip to the Google Headquarters in California for the final awards ceremony on May 21st, 2014, a Google Chromebook computer, an Android tablet, and a t-shirt printed with his or her doodle on it. We’ll also award the winner’s full-time school with a $50,000 Google for Education grant towards the establishment/improvement of a computer lab or technology program with Chromebooks for Education and/or tablets with Google Play for Education
Four (4) National Finalists:
Each of the other four National Finalists will win a $5,000 college scholarship to be used at the school of their choice, a trip to the Google Headquarters in California for the final awards ceremony on May 21st, 2014, an Android tablet, and a t-shirt printed with his or her doodle on it.
Fifty (50) State Winners:
Each of the other 50 State Winners will win a trip to the Google Headquarters in California for the final awards ceremony on May 21st, 2014, an Android tablet, and a t-shirt printed with his or her doodle on it.
Two Hundred and Fifty (250) State Finalists:
Each of the other State Finalists will receive an official winner’s certificate and their Doodles will be featured on the Doodle 4 Google website.
Winner Notification Dates: State Winners will be notified on or before April 25th, 2014 by telephone. The top-five (5) State Winners (one (1) per Grade Group) will be named as “National Finalists” at the May 21st award ceremony in San Francisco area. The National Winner will be notified in person at the May 21st award ceremony in San Francisco area.
Judging Criteria: Doodles will be judged based on the following three categories:
- Artistic Merit: based on grade group and artistic skill.
- Creativity: based on the representation of the theme and use of the Google logo.
- Theme Communication: How clearly the competition theme is expressed in both the artwork and the written statement.
Submissions will be divided into five “Grade Groups” for judging: Grades K-3; Grades 4-5; Grades 6-7; Grades 8-9; Grades 10-12
