The Capture the Pasta Sweepstakes has three separate components: A weekly set of drawings to win travel prizes in the US, a final Grand Prize drawing for a trip to Italy, plus an instant win game for smaller prizes. Participation in all aspects is via the App, which requires an Android or iPhone with working camera function and GPS that you must possess prior to 9/22/2012.
Eligibility: open to legal residents of the continental United States who are 21 years of age or older and possess a camera-capable Android or iPhone with GPS functionality as of 9/22//2012.
Enter Dates: September 22, 2012 – December 1, 2012 at 11:59:59 p.m. ET
How to Enter:
- Use your camera-capable mobile phone to access the App available at the Apple App Store and at Google Play (for Android apps). Obtaining and using the App are both free
- Follow the instructions in the App to locate virtual “Barilla blue boxes” with the GPS tool. This requires going to the general vicinity of the physical locations listed on the map in the App, which will be a very short distance from where you are physically located (typically less than 1/2 mile, though exact locations cannot be guaranteed)
- When you get close to the Barilla blue box, the box will open and the pasta will be revealed. You will be asked to take a virtual picture of the pasta shape at the physical locations indicated on the map in application. Don’t worry about reaching an exact location. The photo function in the App will work in the general vicinity of a location — typically anywhere within 75 yards or so — and regardless what direction you face
- Each time you take a picture that includes one of the virtual pasta shapes, you receive one entry.
- Each time you use the tools furnished in the App to post one of your pictures on your Facebook wall or Twitter account, you receive an additional entry.
Entry Limit: one photo per person per week per box/location, and one posting on Facebook and one posting on Twitter for each picture you take. A “week” is defined as the period from 12:00:01 a.m. ET on a Saturday through 11:59:59 p.m. the following Friday.

ARV: $5,000
Weekly Drawings: A weekly drawing will be held on each Saturday from September 29, 2012 through December 1, 2012, from among all eligible entries received during the immediately preceding one-week period ending at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on Friday night, September 28, 2012 – November 30, 2012. Each eligible entry is valid only for the one (1) weekly drawing for the week when the entry is received. Entry for one weekly drawing is not entry for any other weekly drawing.

Anyone get this to work on an Android phone? I installed, logged in, and can see the GPS display with blue boxes. But when I go to actually take a pic, it crashes every time.
You got more than I did! I see the blinking spots I”m supposed to go toward, but nothing ever changes. I’m just going to keep trying, I guess.
mine does the same just blinks sometimes other times it just blacks out my screen wish they would fix it 🙁

Thanks, my iPhone4. I just went into the Apps and downloaded the “Barilla blue boxes” app and had to walk around the block and took the picture. I received the email as soon as I got home.

I have won twice, so yes.
I received a couple of notifications on the notification tab that I had “won a prize” but it just pulls up a blank screen. Also they e-mailed me but in the subject line it was “none” and in the e-mail body it just stated “none”. Weird. Has this happened to anyone else? And for those of you who have won, have they e-mailed you asking for your address? I just don’t see how they are retrieving instant winners mailing addresses if we signed up through Facebook.

Bummer i cant get it to work either, i have the iphone 4S i got the app and started walking. on the map popped up a bulls eye grid with bow tie pasta on it, no blue boxes. the bulls eye didn’t stay on for more than a second or 2 unable to take any photo. weird. i may try again tomorrow.
Andriod phone as well and it has crashed from day one. I have sent an email every time it crashes.. No such luck. Crappy.
I have an android phone (HTC). Mine crashed a few times upon initial installation. I uninstalled and re-installed the app, rebooted my phone, then tried again. Even now, it freezes occasionally while in the process of capturing a photo. I have to force close it in order for it to become functional again. However, even with the bugs and kinks, it’s still possible to win instantly with only a few captures. It’s especially easy to accrue entries for the weekly trips as a passenger while riding in a vehicle.
