A question was sent to me by Leilani and I thought other readers might be able to benefit from the answer. Leilani wants to know how daily prize winners are notified.
Leilani asked:
I was wondering about the sweeps that have “daily wins”. I’m guessing these are different than the IWGs. My question is: are you notified immediately on screen if you win one of the daily prizes (like in the Ugly Dog/San Francisco contest and also the Kleenex one)? Or do you just get your prize/coupon in the mail?
My answer:
I think it depends on the sweepstakes. If it is an instant win game you will usually get notified instantly on the screen. Sometimes there is a delay like in the Miller Chill instant win game and they notify you within a certain amount of time, like 24 hours, by email to let you know if you won or not.
In the case of the other ones you mentioned you have to read the rules for each one because every sponsor or judging agency may run things slightly differently.
The rules for the Animal Planet Ugly Dog sweepstakes state:
Following the Grand Prize drawing (which is on or about May 14, 2009), the remaining eligible entries will be sorted by date of entry and random drawings will be conducted to select fifty-five (55) Daily Prize winners per day from among the eligible entries received for that day. A total of two thousand nine hundred seventy (2,970) Daily Prizes will be awarded, each consisting of a Pledge™ Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair, ARV $4.60.
I assume then they would send out the prize and you probably would not get notified ahead of time.
The Kleenex Tissue Win Daily, Win Big Sweepstakes rules state:
Intended instant win prizes will be awarded in a random drawing from among entrants who received an instant win message.
So, the Kleenex sweepstakes is a true instant win game and it looks like you get either notified on the screen or by email.
When in doubt or if you have a question always read the official rules. Almost all of your questioned will be answered there.
