I am DONE with this game. I went to Rite Aid tonight. I go to a store that's open till midnight and I went around 11:45 so I was the only customer in the store. When I got to the register I saw that the 3 employees working were there with stacks of tickets opening them all and taking the instant wins and the pieces they needed!!! What a scam!

  2. Anonymous says:

Please call 1-800-RITEAID (1-800-748-3243) or send them email from http://www.riteaid.com/contact_us/contact_customer_service.jsf and tell them about what you saw. There are video tapes and these jerks should be fired. I got a phone call back after I complained about a much simpler matter than this!

Interesting, rare marker 06 is $60 on eBay. The purchaser will still need to locate 01 to get the $250,000. I've got the rare 14. Anyone have 15 to complete the 25,000?

  4. Anonymous says:

Just got an email from customer service. I sent in over 40 requests since the game began and they haven't sent me any back. Since there are "strict guidelines", they can't send me my 40 requests only one a day. She also had the nerve to say I can get more tickets from purchases at Rite Aid.
I will no longer shop at Rite Aid. This is outrageous and the customer service people are a joke.

  5. Anonymous says:

Shouldn't give RITE AID anymore money!

  6. Laura says:

I'm appalled. I've e-mailed them as Sweetie suggested, so hopefully they'll start cracking down on some of the bad employees!

  7. Anonymous says:

The one request a day is a joke. I sent in one a day for about 2 weeks. Know what I've gotten back? One game piece. They're not even honoring requests that follow the guidelines and as far as I'm concerned that's a total scam. I will never shop at Rite Aid again.

  8. Anonymous says:

Any winners yet? I've checked a bunch of sweepstakes sites and so far I've only read about 1 winner. Seems really strange for a game that is supposedly giving away so many prizes.

  9. Anonymous says:

I'm willing to give away marker number 6 if someone will give me marker number 1. Additionally, I'm willing to pay $1,000 for maker number 1. Anybody??

No winners yet? If Rite Aid is smart, they will wait until near the end to ship the missing game pieces. That way everyone keeps buying and hoping for a big prize. Do all your game pieces say Series RIT-01 on the front? I would get excited if I started seeing a different series number. -Steve

Employees DO NOT play the same game as customers, they DO NOT use the same tickets, and if you are having issues at the store with not getting tickets you are due, talk to the Store Manager first, odds are they will accommodate you.

  12. Anonymous says:

It doesn't matter if employees are using the same tickets or playing the same game. They are still stealing the tickets to sell and give to their friends. Lots of unopened tickets are selling on ebay for up to $100. No one but employees would have 100's of tickets to sell.

  13. Anonymous says:

Now I'm being told there is a certain number of purchases allowed in an hour. If I want my tickets, I would have to mail in requests.

  14. Anonymous says:

Sorry, not if I want my tickets…if I want more tickets:)

  15. absweeps says:

I'm starting to get some of my SASE's back. So far, I have received 10. I won a pinnacle 4×6 silver with black frame today (instant win on game ticket). Before this, I have only won extra tickets. No big wins yet.

  16. Anonymous says:

wow thats crazy I can't believe they are cheating like that. I've definitley lost faith in Rite Aid and its sweeps, I'm tossing my game boards!

Game of Life Tickets: I am thinking about offering to buy large quantities of UnOpened game tickets in new condition (no water damage, no creases, etc.) from others that have accumulated legitimately and wish to get rid of. I am not interested in buying from Rite Aid employees who may have aquired illegitimately. I am trying to gauge the interest out there. If you would prefer to respond privately then post a general comment asking for my email address.

An update…I sent in 7 requests for the game pieces…5 in one mailing and 2 in another. I didn't know about the 1 a day rule until it was too late. I sent the SASE's right when the game started at the beginning of January…and I finally received the last 2 pieces today! It took a while, but I did finally get all of them. No wins yet, though – other than more game pieces!

  19. Anonymous says:

I sent in 45 requests and only got back 10. Its good that some were sent, but to not send the rest because of their rule is wrong.

    All,

I went to Rite Aid this morning to make some purchases and when the clerk asked me if I was playing the game, I said "yes". The clerk pulled out a basket full of tickets and proceeded to count double the amount that my register tape had indicated. When I asked why, the clerk said that Corporate had visited their store yesterday and instructed the clerks to double up on all tickets given out going forward. I suspect Rite Aid may have more tickets left to give out than time left to play so they need all tickets to be distributed to flush out all of the winners. Make sure your store doubles up going forward. By the way I live in Rhode Island.

I’ve never liked Rite-Aid but I live right near one so it’s pretty convenient. Many of their items are past the pull date. Not to mention being pretty high priced. Well anyway, I got into playing this Game of Life crap. I find however that now when I go into a Rite-Aid I have to ask the clerks for my game pieces. The other day I was in a hurry and the clerk didn’t give me ANY. And then just tonight I made some purchases AND I bought some gum that would have given me an extra ticket. I should have played closer attention because, yeah, you guessed it, the clerk only gave me one ticket. And I’m sure as hell not gonna get in my car and go back and ask for another one….
In the beginning I was getting quite a few of the correct pieces, now I’m not getting ANY. I have a ton of tickets that I don’t need.
I don’t know if the whole thing is a sham but it does make me wonder…..

Thanks for the info, Patrick! Headed to my local RA now and hope for the same. We have GREAT employees at our RA (northern Michigan) that have been disgusted at what has been going on at other stores. Really hope I see some winners on here soon!

    Everybody,

I have discovered that there have been several big prize winners such as:

one Kitchen Makeover winner out of Glendale, CA.
two $5,000 cash winners out of Atlanta, GA and Greensboro, SC
    five $1,000 cash winners out of 1=NY, 1=NJ, 1==NC, 1=GA, 2=CA
    four cruise winners out of 1=NY, 1=ME, 1=SC, 1=CA

and many many smaller prize winners. I dont know if i can list an outside web site address her but you can see the most recent winners list at www rite aid dot com

Is there anyone from your town or city listed? Check the list out. Let us know.

This GoL is becomming a little addictive. I got my fix today. Here is how.

I went into my local RA this afternoon to use a raincheck issued last week to purchase four items (Dawn Dish detergent .88 / bottle) and my register tape calculated five free tickets, the cashier doubles up on my tickets so I receive 10 tickets. I also turned in two Instant Winner coupons for 2 free tickets each and the cashier doubles those up so I receive 8 tickets, so combined I received 18 tickets total. I did not find any rare numbers (boob hoo) but….. I did earn 6 more Instant Winners out of the 18 tickets I open for 12 free tickets next time, doubled up = 24 tickets. I cant take it.

You need to find the stores in your area that double up and take advantage of this crazyness.

    Patrick…

  25. Anonymous says:

I think it doesn't matter if they double up or not, me and my girlfriend have been playing this game for about a month, and everytime we go to the store, they give us about 5 tickets each time…. The last time we went was today and they gave us around 50 tickets…. 50!…. first, i suspected why the cashiers give the tickets like that… and then, i realized after having the tickets in my hand that the advertisements on the back were the same 5 all the time, and we noticed that the tickets inside were all the same…. So this way they can easily pick out which tickets to give to the customers no matter if they give u only 4 tickets or 50, they know which ones to pick out from. They don't even have to open them!!!!…

Wow 50 tickets!! Thats outragious. That has happened to me a few times. In that case I would check the tickets at the register and if you notice multiple duplicates ask the cashier if they can give you some others. It cant hurt to ask.

    Patrick…

I am swapping game pieces with 6 different people in the Cleveland area and I am still 1 game piece from being a winner. The only thing that I am winning are FREE Game Pieces.

I even had a friend who went to gamble in P.A. go to several Rita Aid Stores there and out of 8 game pieces, there was only 1 ticket that I needed.

I am going to ask my friend in California if they have any, but right now, I think that my chances of winning anything is NONE.

When I look at how many possible winning tickets are out there, it amazes me, that I haven't even won $20.00.

It took a LONGGG time but I received every ticket that I mailed away for except one. Hopefully, they are holding out on the big one. I know….wishful thinking!

Over the course of the game I have accumulated about 200 "instant win" tickets for 2 more free tickets each…no other prizes. Today I cashed those in and got the 400 tickets I "won". I spread it out over several stores…and all I "won" is more free tickets. I don't understand how it's possible that out of all these tickets I didn't even win one of the instant prizes? Even one single free product? Am I the unluckiest person alive? Lol.

    • Mary says:

I have now opened more than 1000 of these and have only had 4 instant wins for free tickets….so I think I am the unluckiest person alive!

This is a test comment after some changes made to this Rite Aid Game of Life comment area on Sunday evening. It looks like the format for entering comments has changed. I noticed any comments posted on 2-14-10 and 2-15-10 were lost during this change. If Wendy has any insight as to what happened that would be great.

    Thanks

I moved the entire site over to a new system and while most of the posts and comments imported into this new system some were lost. I believe we lost 6 comments on this thread so those people who commented need to write what they wanted to say again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

      • Patrick says:

        Wendy,

Thanks for the reply and glad you were aware of the details. So far the new system seems to work well from our end. Hopefully it works well from your end as well.
