Channel 3 came to our house for a Backyard Barbeque

Yes, it’s true. We won a Backyard Barbeque with local TV Channel 3, WFSB and BigY World Class Markets.

This past Thursday, August 21st, a TV crew and a BigY crew of chefs came to our house. WFSB broadcast live during at 5 pm, 5:30 pm, and 6 pm (EST) during the weather report. WFSB Reporter Hallie Jackson interviewed several of us during the barbeque. BigY brought tons of food and cooked it for our guests.

How did you win such a thing you ask? Well, WFSB had a weekly contest on their website. I had to fill out the basic information like name, address, etc. but they also requested that you write a paragraph about why you would want them to come to your house for a barbeque. I wrote only about 3 lines explaining that my youngest son would be coming home for a visit this summer before going to Iraq later this year. Based on that, they picked my entry. I was not the only winner. They picked winners each week during the summer.
